Good Times and Job Hunting

Saturday, we partied in the same 5 feet as Big Boi, but didn't official party with him.  We had a lot of fun and saw some of the beautiful people.  I got a new star necklace from P Valentine (which is a fly shop, I might add).  [info]ozmancometh  and I both got free Adidas courier bags (SCORE)!  We also went to Dad's for Theater Sport for a little while. I went home fairly early, just before midnight, while [info]ozmancometh  continued without me.  Which, as you may or may not know, is just fine with me because sleep is one of my most cherished activities and I don't often get enough of it.

Sunday was quite simply awesome.  Thanks to everyone who went all the way to the boonies.  And thanks to [info]girlsonfilm  for organizing such a great time.  Even though we lived in Athens a good while, we had never been to the quarry.  It rocked the cock of Thor!  The water and weather were absolutely perfect.  And the crew was a certainly a fun lot...I am proud to admit that I went on the high rope swing.  I'm not saying my neck muscles aren't paying for it.  But I am really happy I did it (more fuel for the campaign of emasculation!).  And we ended the day with a yummy tummy-full at The Grit.

Yesterday, [info]ozmancometh 's van decided to die so I went home at lunch.  There was a message from the High Tech Institute for a position I had applied for.  I took the number to call back that afternoon. We picked up my new glasses on the way back to work.  They are ever so adorable and now I officially have rose colored lenses in which to veiw the world.  Let's see if this makes me a kinder, gentler evil midget genius.

Well, I called the "campus president" for this small accredited junior college and he explained the position.  I was kind of interested in an interview until he told me the salary.  I know of people pulling down more G's working the garden shop at Home Depot. Ummm...Nevermind...so glad the position requires a master's degree.  The funny thing was he made a point to tell me that the only reason they are seeking a "Professional Librarian" is to maintain accreditation.  I am sure if it wasn't required, they'd definitely hire a disgruntled Barnes and Nobles coffee bar cashier, STAT (no offense to coffee bar maidens and masters everywhere).  Hence, the search continues.  I applied with the state of Georgia Board of Regents today for an advertised opening...Wish me luck.

YAY! Sounds like you had a great weekend!

Thank you for posting! I'm so bored at work today and it's been entirely too quiet on LJ!

It was a lot of fun...Thanks for responding. If you click on the link for girlsonfilm you can see some pictures she's just posted from the quarry day trip.

Sounds like you had a great time this weekend. I've never made it to the infamous 'quarry' personally but i've seen the expedition shots so to speak and it looks beautiful!

Sorry about Oz's van & the suck ass pay for the new position.

Thanks for the Love

And commiseration...

It was a blast...like I said the weather was perfect. I was totally hedging...and saying that we needed to stay home and do yard work, laundry, and grocery shopping. But Oz wouldn't back down for responsibility's sake...And this time I am glad for it because its one of those afternoons that you remember and decide that you sometimes do have a good time on this earth after all.

Thanks...I sent out about 5 resumes within the last two month. I know that isn't much, but since I've go so much experience now, I'm used to a little better response. At least when I was looking last Nov & DEc I got more attention...Oh well, gots to keep on keepin' on.

I hope Oz and I get to see you while you are in town here real soon!

It'll work out when you least expect. I'm booking ticket tomorrow. Looking at being in town by Sept. 29th and staying through Oct. 1. That's the plan at least. I think we should all go out for drinks and catching up.
